A former Baltimore County police officer found responsible for the the 2017 rape of a 22-year-old woman has been sentenced to home detention.

Westerman began working for the Baltimore County Police Department in 2013. He's currently suspended without pay. 

They said in one case, the driver tried to lure a 12-year-old child inside.

An autopsy has since ruled his death a homicide. 

Baltimore County Police were attempting to arrest 2 robbery suspects at a hotel near Redwood and Calvert Streets in Downtown Baltimore.

The bill will be officially introduced during the County Council meeting Tuesday evening.
