This all comes as COVD-19 cases in Maryland spike due to the Delta variant.

The state no longer requires masks inside and outside for fully vaccinated people, but Mayor Brandon Scott said not enough people are vaccinated to drop the mask mandate. 

However, while pre-registration is now open to everyone, the state will prioritize eligible residents first, meaning people that were in phases 2b or earlier. 

No Johnson & Johnson vaccine doses administered to the public have been tainted.

Hogan is encouraging Marylanders to get the vaccine when it’s their turn.

Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine is 85% effective against severe illness and is the first single-dose vaccine.

The tests will be offered whether or not someone is showing symptoms of the virus in an effort to provide early detection of possible cases.
