Maryland Route 295 in Baltimore City is shutting down this weekend while crews demolish the Annapolis Road Bridge superstructure.

According to city transportation officials, starting at 9 p.m. Friday, both north and southbound Route 295 will be closed between Bush Street and the beltway and will remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday.

During the closure, all southbound Russell Street traffic headed toward Route 295 will be detoured onto Interstate 95 south. All northbound Route 295 traffic will be diverted onto the beltway to I-95 north.

Various access ramps to Route 295 will also be closed, including:

Southbound I-95 ramp to Route 295 south

Eastbound Monroe Street ramp to Route 295 south

Manokin Street ramp to Route 295 south

Annapolis Road ramp to Route 295 south

Beltway exit ramps to Route 295 north

Once Route 295 reopens Monday, there will be full-time single lane closures in both directions in the vicinity of the Annapolis Road Bridge, reducing Route 295 to two lanes in each direction through fall 2020.

All construction is weather permitting.
