Today, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and executives of Horseshoe Casino Baltimore announced the details of an expansive program to inform city residents about the 1,700 new jobs being created by the $442 million casino entertainment complex. The hiring program, which begins next month, will use a creative mix of recruitment efforts to identify qualified local job candidates to staff the casino in advance of its third quarter 2014 grand opening.

Working in conjunction with Mayor Rawlings-Blake, the Baltimore City Council, and the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED), Horseshoe Baltimore will conduct city-wide outreach to educate residents about available positions, job qualifications, and the application process. By partnering with MOED and a wide range of community groups, neighborhood associations, and civic organizations, the Horseshoe recruiting team will reach out to job seekers to promote special neighborhood-based recruitment events. The team will employ promotion methods ranging from neighborhood canvassing to social media campaigns to spread the word.
