Clarence Mitchell III ,
the 72 year old and civil rights leader and a member of one of the state’s most prominent political families was laid to rest Sunday .He passed away earlier this month from lung cancer.
Clarence Mitchell III served in the House of Delegates from 1963-1967 and was then elected to the state Senate, where he served until 1986.
