The Baltimore Police Department is investigating two separate quadruple shootings that occurred Monday evening in Southwest Baltimore, amid a violent stretch of gun violence over the weekend.

The first shooting happened around 7 p.m. in the Carrollton Ridge neighborhood. Officers on patrol along Ramsay Street reported hearing gunshots coming from the 1900 block of McHenry Street. When they arrived, they found two 14-year-old boys and an 18-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. A 38-year-old woman was also located nearby with a graze wound to her leg.

All four victims were transported to area hospitals. Police later said the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Police Commissioner Richard Worley said the gunfire erupted after a gray vehicle pulled up to the block and two individuals got out and opened fire. Officers attempted to pursue the vehicle but lost it during the chase.

Just a few hours later, around 10:30 p.m., a second quadruple shooting occurred in the 2500 block of Edmondson Avenue, only minutes away from the first scene. Details about that incident were still limited as of late Monday night.

Police cordoned off large sections of the area near McHenry and Ramsay Streets with yellow tape. Chairs were overturned and debris scattered across Goldsmith Alley as officers canvassed the scene.

Adrienne Folks, who manages Sea Pride Crab House nearby, said she witnessed emergency vehicles racing down South Monroe Street and wasn’t surprised. “It’s scary,” she said. “Once we’re behind the bulletproof glass, we stay inside until it’s time to go.”

The Monday shootings followed a violent weekend in Southwest Baltimore. Two men were fatally shot Sunday afternoon in separate incidents just blocks apart. A 21-year-old man was wounded early that morning in another nonfatal shooting. Police also investigated four additional shootings and a fatal stabbing between Friday and Saturday.
