It’s officially pool season in Baltimore! Starting this Tuesday, city park and neighborhood pools will open for weekday hours, expanding access after a few locations began weekend operations last month.

According to the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks, nearly two dozen public pools will be open and free to use this summer, including three brand-new neighborhood pools at Walter P. Carter, Towanda, and Coldstream.

Here’s a general schedule:

  • Park Pools: Open for swimming around noon Monday through Thursday, and at 11 a.m. on Fridays.
  • Neighborhood Pools: Open at noon Monday through Saturday. These are closed on Sundays.

Keep in mind: pool hours vary by location and day, so it’s best to check the specific schedule online before you go.

A few city pools operate on a six-day schedule:

  • Closed Mondays: Druid Hill Park, Lake Clifton, and Riverside
  • Closed Tuesdays: Patterson Park, Roosevelt, and Cherry Hill

To use a Baltimore city pool, residents must first create a Civic Rec account. Be sure to review the aquatics rules before visiting. One key rule to remember: bags are not allowed on pool decks, and lockers are available in limited numbers.

Whether you’re looking to cool off or just have some fun in the sun, Baltimore’s pools are ready for summer.
