An 18-year-old was shot in the wrist while walking along Wegworth Lane in Southwest Baltimore on Monday night.

According to Baltimore Police, the victim reported hearing gunfire in the 2700 block of Wegworth Lane before being struck.

Preliminary investigation reveals that two vehicles were involved in a road rage incident when an unidentified shooter fired from the passenger side of one vehicle.

The 18-year-old sustained a wrist injury from the gunfire. Following the shooting, both vehicles crashed in the same area.

The driver and passenger from one vehicle fled the scene on foot, while the other driver remained and was uninjured.

Southern District Shooting detectives have taken over the investigation, which is ongoing. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact them at 410-396-2499.
