Landsdowne High School Student Dies After Targeted Shooting, Police Say

A Lansdowne High School student tragically died on Tuesday following a shooting outside a shopping center near the school, which police have confirmed was a targeted attack.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. when the shooter opened fire on the 16-year-old boy while he was standing outside a store, according to Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough.
The victim, who was not attending school that day, ran toward Lansdowne High School but collapsed after being struck. Police say the gunman pursued him in a vehicle and, after the victim fell, exited the car and fired at him several more times.
The shooter fled the scene and remains at large. The 16-year-old was transported to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Lansdowne High School, located near a strip mall with several businesses, including a laundromat and a grocery store, activated its lockdown protocols and alerted authorities following reports of gunfire. Since the school’s dismissal time is 2:15 p.m., all after-school and evening activities were canceled.
