Former Baltimore Police Commissioner Darryl De Sousa who pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor counts of failure to file a U.S. Individual Tax Return is in federal custody at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fairton, New Jersey, officials say.
The United States Attorney for the District of Maryland said De Sousa failed to file a federal tax return for the years 2013, 2014, and 2015, while he was employed by the Baltimore Police Department throughout those years.
De Sousa was named police commissioner in January 2018 , after Kevin Davis was fired, but then he resigned in May after he was formally charged.
