On November 3, WOLB’s Larry Young Morning Show hosted a radio town hall meeting on-air with Maryland Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford who co-hosted the show and discussed the causes and effects of the Opioid epidemic in Maryland today. Dr. Gregory Branch, director of Health and Human Services of Baltimore County, also weighed in on the topic.

As reported by the Baltimore Health Association, 89 percent of all Maryland intoxication deaths in 2016 were opioid-related. Opioids include heroin, prescription opioids, and non-pharmaceutical fentanyl.
