In a showdown between unbeaten southpaws, Davis (19-0, 18 KOs) looked supremely confident despite operating in enemy territory. The Baltimore native was quick, accurate and powerful in dispatching Walsh (21-1, 14 KOs), despite a questionable stoppage from referee Michael Alexander that left the crowd booing. Davis, just 22, made the first defense of his IBF title and continued to showcase just how dangerous of a finisher he is with a third-round TKO of Great Britain’s Liam Walsh at Copper Box Arena.
