Detroit Mayor Kilpatrick Accepts Plea Deal In Text Message Scandal

The U.S. Supreme Court denied Former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s request for a new trial.

Kilpatrick was convicted of bribery, racketeering, and other corruption charges in 2013 and was sentenced to 28 years in federal prison.

There was much tension between Kwame Kilpatrick and his lawyer during his trial.

The appeal went up for review and despite denial there is still a chance he can habeas claim but it’ll be money from his pocket.
