Benjamin Jealous, the NAACP’s former president, is reportedly considering running for a U.S. Senate seat. According to sources close to Jealous, he’s eyeing the Senate seat that Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.) will leave in 2016. “It’s in the very early stages,” said a close friend. “He’s reaching out to supporters, donors, you name it, to see if there’s a path to victory. It’s early but it’s serious.” The California native won’t get the senate seat without a political bout; there are many other Democrats who want the spot as well, including Rep. Chris Van Hollen and Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. Read more.


President Obama Speaks Out on Hillary Clinton’s Private Email Account

Hillary Clinton’s private email account has been all the buzz in the realm of politics lately. Many are not only questioning the content of the emails, but why she felt the need to have a private account in the first place. During a recent interview, President Obama shared his thoughts about the situation. He claimed that he found out about the account through news reports, like everyone else. Although he said that his administration was built upon the principal of transparency, he spoke very highly of Clinton. “Let me just say that Hillary Clinton is and has been an outstanding public servant; she was a great secretary of state for me,” said President Obama during the interview. NFL Player Injured in Florida Drive-By Shooting

Chris Johnson, a free-agent running back in the NFL, was reportedly shot on Saturday night in Orlando. According to reports, Johnson was riding around in his car with friends when shots rang out. The driver was killed and Johnson was shot in the arm. He is in stable condition in an Orlando hospital. No arrests have been made as of yet. Read more.
