She joked with Martin about the “dark side” of journalism recounting times when she has been quoted in articles “cursing a little” and tried to understand why that was the quote used in the finished piece.
Dawson said the role of a journalist is to write down “markers in history.” She added it’s “how we know what happened before and after, and right now in that present moment.”
Dawson told Martin, “This is a really great film for revealing there’s people behind those stories.”
