The ex-Chicago police detective who shot and killed 22-year-old innocent bystander Rekia Boyd, is seeking to collect disability pay from the city because he says he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder from the 2012 shooting. Dante Servin, 48, could collect as much as $78,000 or 75 percent of his former $104,000 salary until his police pension kicks in.

But days before the hearing, Servin resigned. With no hearing on the docket, the Police Board must withdraw all charges against the ex-cop. Subsequently, he will get to keep his pension.
