Tuesday the teen accused of shooting a 5-year-old was sentenced to life plus 30 years in prison. Fortunately the child survived the shooting but has a bullet lodged in her brain and is not able to walk or speak. The case outraged city residents and Lamont Davis continues to plead his innocence in the case. Emotions erupted outside of the courthouse after the sentencing. Friends of the accused maintained that Davis was wrongfully charged.

Davis has a past and a long rap sheet. During the trial, jurors were told that the teen violated his GPS monitoring device more than 100 times when it was far fewer. Surveillance tape from the scene of the crime  show Davis shooting the gun during the attack but the GPS displayed the bracelet was in Davis’ residence at the time.

Davis plans to file an appeal. For details, click here.
