The Maryland Transit Administration’s Metro subway will shut down this weekend for tests of the system’s new railcars.

A man was stabbed Thursday morning at the Owings Mills Metro Subway Station, triggering a police investigation and a temporary service disruption on the line.

The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on July 24, according to the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA). The stabbing took place on the station’s platform.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition has not yet been released.

Maryland Transit Administration Police responded to the scene and took a suspect into custody. The investigation into the attack is ongoing.

Metro Subway service was temporarily suspended between the Owings Mills and Old Court stations as police conducted their response. During the suspension, MTA provided shuttle buses to assist riders.

Service was restored later in the day, and shuttle operations were discontinued shortly afterward.
