Baltimore Police Officer Accused of Raping 16-Year-Old, Held Without Bail

A Baltimore police officer was arrested on charges of raping a 16-year-old girl.
According to documents obtained by CBS Baltimore, Curlon Edwards has been charged with first- and second-degree rape, assault, reckless endangerment and false imprisonment. The Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office said he was ordered to be held without bail.
The teenager told police that Edwards was her boyfriend. She said that he picked her up from her home and they went to his Baltimore apartment, charging documents revealed.
She told police that Edwards accused her of cheating on him, which led to an argument. Documents said Edwards took her phone and was searching for evidence.
Court documents said the girl told police she slapped Edwards before he put her in a chokehold, and she briefly lost consciousness. The officer then allegedly prevented her from leaving the apartment.
According to the account the girl gave to police, Edwards then handed a gun to the girl, and he told her to shoot him because “he was afraid that she was going to tell people around what happened.”
The girl told police she took the gun from Edwards and consoled him. Then, she said, he took the gun back, threatened to kill her, and said he wanted to have sex.
The girl told police she didn’t feel the sex was consensual. According to the documents, she then told police that the officer took her to Walmart to get concealer to cover up marks from their fight.
The girl told detectives that the officer knew her age and they had been dating since March 2025.
