This past Tuesday night Larry Young, legislators, community leaders, HBCU Presidents and students were a part of the Legislative Black Caucus Of Maryland, Inc.’s “HBCU Night In Annapolis.” Here is where all of the above voiced concerns about the update on Senate Bill 712, Historically Black Institutions, state funding, the Britt HBI comparability program and the future of HBCUs in our area: Morgan State University, Coppin State University, Bowie State University and University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Other attendees included Delegate Cheryl Glenn (Chair LBCM), Senator Joan Carter Conway, Maryland Lt Gov. Boyd Rutherford, Dr.Earl Richardson (MSU President Emeritus, MSU), Gerald Stansbury (NAACP State Conference), David Burton (Plantiff Coalition), Dejuan Patterson (The Bmore Group), Chinedu Nwokeafor (MSU), Rashad Staton (MSU Alumni), and many other senators and delegates.
