Sometimes, we all need someone to lean on. A group of employees from a Washington coffee shop provided just that in a touching photo that’s gone viral.
KPTV reports that Pierce Dunn and Evan Freeman from the Dutch Bros. coffee shop in Vancouver, WA were photographed praying with a grieving customer who lost her husband the evening before. Freeman says the woman, a regular, pulled up to the store’s drive-thru in tears. The employees offered her a free drink, but also took her hand and prayed for her and her family during the difficult time.
A customer snapped a photo of the touching moment and posted it on Facebook; it’s since been shared over 100,000 times.
“She’s like, ‘She’s just having a really bad day. Her husband passed.’ And as soon as she said that, I was like, ‘There’s nothing more you need to say. We got this. We’re going to do what we do every time we get someone who’s in pain or hurt. We’re going to give them our love,’” said Freeman.
Freeman and Dunn say the woman was so grateful to them for taking her hand and taking the time. They had no intention of this moment going viral but say maybe it will inspire someone else.
“If every single person did an act of kindness or just had smile on their face, the world would be a completely different place,” said Dunn.
The store’s owner Jessica Chudek said she was moved by the viral photo before she even realized it was of her employees. Dunn and Freeman say they connect with customers all the time and will more than likely continue after the likes and shares go away.
