We are excited to inform you that Ms. Hughes and Radio One are featured in an exhibit at the Newseum which is one of the top attractions in Washington, D.C. The Newseum, located at 555 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C., offers visitors a state-of-the-art experience that blends news history with current technology and hands-on exhibits. The mission of the Newseum is to champion the five freedoms of the First Amendment through education, information and entertainment. This particular exhibit, “One Nation With News for All,” tells the dramatic story of how immigrants and minorities used the power of the press to fight for their rights and shape the American experience.

The exhibit, which opened in May, will run through January 4, 2015. In addition, Ms. Hughes will be interviewed live at the Newseum on Saturday, August 9th at 2:30 pm. The interview is free with the purchase of an admission ticket to the Newseum BUT seating for the interview is limited and on a first come-first serve basis. The attached email provides information on how to get a discounted ticket.

We hope that you will have the opportunity to visit the Newseum and learn how the very first non-English speaking newspaper, which began in 1732, has culminated in the fact that today, one person in four gets news from ethnic media in languages that span from Amharic to Hmong to Yiddish.
