That is what most of America’s non-White male voters said to Mitt Romney on Tuesday.
The presidential race between Barack Obama and Romney was a tight one. But the Republican Party and their next White House nominee need to be careful in 2016 because exit polling reveals that the next two elections may not be so competitive.

President Obama won more than 93 percent of the Black vote and 69 percent of the Latino, according to the Washington Post. Young people did not line up at the polls as they did back in 2008, but Obama still won the 18-29-year-old vote over Romney by a 24 point margin. The President also won 54 percent of the female vote compared to Romney’s 44 percent.
The reason for this is simple: Romney and the GOP are tone deaf and here’s why.
Bet You Missed That “47 Percent” On Election Night, Didn’t You Mitt?
Romney unabashedly wrote off 47 percent of the country as a bunch of government handout-taking leaches who have nothing to contribute to his America vision during a fundraiser in Boca Raton, Florida. In part, this is what he had to say about a large contingent of the voting populace:
There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax…[M]y job is is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.
When Romney made these remarks at the fundraiser, I guess he forgot about the “Occupy Wall Street” movement. For a few intense months, an economically diverse group of Americans, many of them young college-educated folks struggling to find work, marched across America demanding that our country recalibrate the economic engine that leaves loopholes for the wealthy but roadblocks for the working class.
When an Occupy protester asked him what he planned on doing for the 99 percent during a South Carolina campaign stop in June, he had this say:
Let me tell you something. America is a great nation, because we’re a united nation. And those who are trying to divide the nation, as you’re trying to do here, and as our president is doing, are hurting this country seriously. The right course for America is not to try to divide America, and try and divid us between one and another. it’s to come together as a nation.
And if you’ve got a better model — if you think China’s better, or Russia’s better, or Cuba’s better, or North Korea’s better — I’m glad to hear all about it.
But you know what? America’s right, and you’re wrong.
Really? His response to what he’d do for the 99 percent was to suggest that the protester preferred the Cold War way of life? #mittsoutoftouch!
Mitt didn’t have to go all Woodstock on us and drop his conservative values. But when you tell a 20-year-old college student working as a bartender without health care to borrow money from his parents to pay for tuition, that doesn’t endear him or other young folks to cast their ballot for you.
I’m just saying, Mr. Mittens, I’m just saying.

Those Damn “Illegals” (I mean, Latinos)
And on the immigration reform front, look: No one wants porous borders. Nobody. But, in reality, there are so many illegal immigrants in America who have been living here so long that their countries of birth are as foreign to them as they would be to a tourist visiting for the first time.
The DREAM Act, originally introduced in Congress in 2001 and passed by the House in a modified form in 2010, would have given millions of well-meaning, hardworking illegal immigrants–many of whom were brought into America as children by their parents and lived as law-abiding Americans–legal status.
Romney said he would veto it. (Though he mentioned that he would support giving illegal immigrants who served in the Armed Forces a pathway to citizenship.) His party showed even less flexibility. They filibustered The Dream Act in December of 2010. Even their young, rising star, Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), asked his colleagues to make concessions on the legislation. They gave him the side eye, instead.
And, as exit polls cited by Fox News Latino reveal, Latinos gave Romney a side eye of there own:
The Latino Decisions polls indicate that nationwide and in battleground states Obama won Latino voter support over Romney by historic margins – 72 percent to 23 percent nationwide, including: in Colorado, Obama won Latino voters by 87 percent-10 percent margin; in New Mexico, by a 77 percent-21 percent margin; in Nevada, by an 80 percent-17 percent margin; in Ohio, by an 82 percent-17 percent margin; in Virginia, by a 66 percent-31 percent margin; and in Florida, by a 58 percent-40 percent margin.
Romney rejected the Dream Act and supported Arizona’s extremist immigration laws. Mr. Mittens ended up getting a nightmare in Latino voting backlash for doing so.
Those Hard-Headed Negros
The GOP never had a shot a the Black vote in this election and they never will if they keep silent on party operatives who insist on referring to the first Black man to occupy the Oval Office as the “food stamp President,” and demanding his birth certificate. Republicans love to say they are the party of Lincoln. You know, the one that freed the slaves–back in the late 1870s.
The Republican Party hasn’t been the same since and they know it. But, they insist on propping up token Black folks who they claim prove that their party is diversifying. Mia Love, an African American Mormon and small town mayor out of Utah, was suppose to appeal to Black voters with her Haitian background in her pursuit of a seat in Congress.
Many Blacks, including myself, wanted to hear what the sista had to say. After listening to her speech at the GOP convention in Tampa, Fla., most realized that she was not a sista at all. Just another GOP mouthpiece. She lost the 1st Congressional race Jim Matheson (D-Utah).
Whether it’s Herman Cain (loser), Allen West (a possible soon-to-be loser) or any other Black person they toss at us, the GOP must realize that their chosen Negro has to embrace the issues and concerns of Black Americans; not simply be a black face espousing White male, conservative, out-of-touch, non-progessive values.
And what about those those “binders full of women” and their reproductive rights? Well as far as Mitten’s and his GOP homies are concerned, they shouldn’t have any. If it wasn’t Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin (loser) talking about “legitimate rape,” and Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock (another loser) saying that pregnancy from rape was something that “God intended to happen,” it was Rush Limbaugh calling a female Georgetown Law School student a “slut over her views on contraceptives.
Oh, how sweet!
Romney, for his part, is allergic to contraceptives and wanted to cut off money to Planned Parenthood–even though he and his other GOP brethren don’t ever have to use either.
Yep, that’s the “Good ol’ Party” Mitt wanted women to vote for!
Why such harsh Republican rhetoric against women? Because they want the right to chose how they govern their bodies without “Big Brother’s” permission?
If this were the 1950s, the Romney and GOP would be fine. But this is not the 1950s; it’s 2012 and the Republican Party needs to do some real soul searching as they prepare to select their next presidential candidate.
Otherwise, America’s growing, diverse voting, mostly female population will continue to say, Nope!
