Danielle Locklear north carolina missing

Wednesday morning, the aunt of missing North Carolina teen Danielle Locklear talked to Roland Martin in an exclusive interview to offer an update on her niece’s case and news that Locklear’s ex-boyfriend has confessed to killing the teen.

Police have charged 17-year-old Je’Michael Malloy with second-degree murder. According to reports, Malloy and Locklear got into a fight on the night of March 11 after she left her grandfather’s home in Hope Mills, North Carolina. They say the conversation turned violent and Malloy choked Locklear to death. He and a friend, 18-year-old Dominic Lock, allegedly, then tossed her body over a bridge. A woman’s body was recovered from the South River that family sources say is Locklear’s.  Authorities say Lock will be charged with conspiracy in Locklear’s death.

Sharon Bond, Locklear’s aunt, told Martin that the family was shocked that Malloy was arrested for the murder, that he even participated in searches for the teen. Bond says, however, the family is happy to have some closure in the case and to have Danielle’s killer off the streets.
