State health officials said they are not considering any widespread mandates, but they're urging businesses to take charge. 

This all comes as COVD-19 cases in Maryland spike due to the Delta variant.

According to the Baltimore City Health Commissioner, more than 70 percent of residents have not been vaccinated in some parts of the city. 

In an announcement on Wednesday, Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott said he will lift the city’s state of emergency and all COVID-19 related restrictions on July 1st.
