Trooper First Class Wesley W. Brown, 24, was shot and killed outside the Applebee’s restaurant in Forestville Thursday evening by a customer who had a dispute over a bill. The state trooper escorted an irate customer out of the restaurant and into the parking lot. Shortly after, gun shots rang out and Brown was dead. Brown was dressed in a jacket that clearly identified him as police. Police are still searching for the shooter.

The employees were held inside the restaurant until the investigation was over early Friday morning and were visibly shaken up. They had no comment for reporters.
