Many are questioning the reasoning behind an former U.S. Marine being killed by an off-duty officer in Mount Vernon.

Early Saturday morning, former U.S. Marine Tyrone Brown, 32, was gunned down and killed by an off-duty 15-year veteran of the Baltimore police force. Officials are determining whether the use of deadly force was justified, since the officer was leaving a nightclub, and should the officer have had a weapon in the first place. The officer has been identified as Gahiji Tshamba, 36.

Reports say that Brown made a pass at Tshamba’s girlfriend. An argument ensued and shortly after 13 shots were fired. The outcome does not look good for the officer. This is not his first alcohol-related shooting.
