Baltimore will launch the second of three free Charm City Circulator bus lines on Monday.

The new north-south Purple Route will run down from Ostend Street to South Baltimore’s Penn Station, operating at 10-minute intervals.

The new line will intersect at Pratt and Lombard streets with the circulator’s east-west Orange route. That route will service between Harbor East and the Hollins Market in January.

The third route to be introduced will be the Green Route serving Johns Hopkins Hospital, Fells Point, Harbor East and City Hall before the end of the year.

Chief of Transit and Marine Services for the city’s Department of Transportation, Barry Robinson, said the Orange Route has surpassed expectations  carrying about 2,000 riders a day with over 220,000 since the inception.
