Alphonso Gaye died Monday after his motorcycle crashed into a pole after swerving to avoid hitting a dirt bike driven by an adult with a baby on the seat. The driver of the dirt bike has not been identified by police.
After Gaye hit the light pole, the driver of the dirt bike took the child around the corner and left him unattended as he drove away leaving the child in the middle of the alley and then took off. The family of the injured child know who the driver of the dirt bike is but refuse to assist police in their investigation. The incident occurred on Gilmore Street in southwest Baltimore and many witnessed the accident.
Gaye, 44, was described as a kind man and was living with his sister at the time of the accident. The baby was treated and released from a local hospital.
