Wicomico County authorities  have arrested three teenage girls accused of spray-painting racist graffiti at the Wetipquin Boat Ramp.

The Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation said Friday that the girls — ages 14, 16 and 17 — are charged with malicious destruction. Investigators identified the girls, who are from the Wetipquin area, as suspects after receiving a Crime Solvers tip.

Police say deputies were called to the boat ramp on March 19 after a county roads worker spotted the racist graffiti on the roadway and several signs. One message read, “Whites Only.”

Officials say the signs have been cleaned off or removed, and workers have cleared the road.
