o   Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III, State and County Elected Officials and University of Maryland Medical System leadership will stand together to assure the new Prince George’s County Regional Medical facility in Largo receives the required level of funding as laid out in Senate Bill 324 of 2016.  In addition, officials will address other concerns that could impact the future success of the Regional Medical Center.
“Governor Hogan is going back on his word to support the Regional Medical Center (RMC), a hospital that will serve the residents of Prince George’s County and Southern Maryland.  Chapter 13 of the 2016 Laws of Maryland mandated $30 million in State operating funds and $67.5 million in State capital funds in FY 2018,” said County Executive Rushern L. Baker.  “The cut proposed by the Governor will significantly impede the progress we have made and clearly violates what was codified in the law passed last year.”
