GOP Presidential Candidate Ben Carson Campaigns At Black Republican Caucus Of Southern Florida

Ben Carson finally removing himself from the list of potential Republican presidential nominees is a classic case of “good news/bad news.” The good news is Ben Carson will no longer be on the campaign trail. The bad news is he might be endorsing widely assumed Republican nominee, Donald Trump.

“Dr. Ben Carson will endorse Donald Trump for the GOP nomination, various sources close to Carson confirmed to NBC News Thursday. Carson plans to endorse Trump at a news conference Friday, a high-level source close to Carson’s former campaign said. A person close to Carson said the retired neurosurgeon sees Trump as “authentic” and “an outsider.”

Where there’s smoke, there’s likely fire. The news comes on the heels of Ben suspending his campaign last Friday. Ben’s departure from trail was made because of “a string of disappointing finishes in the GOP presidential primary contests.” He’d finished fourth in Iowa and earned only eight delegates during the GOP contests. Donald Trump continues to pick up more momentum and it’ll be interesting to see whether Ben’s endorsement will do much to boost his profile.
