LAPD Investigation on highland and hollywood boulevard

Francine Orr

This is so scary and so heartbreaking.

Earlier this afternoon, LAPD officers responded to a call about an altercation in downtown L.A. One of the suspects – a homeless man – resisted arrest, however the officers were able to regain control and eventually get him down on the ground.

Soon after, one police officer took it upon himself to shoot the suspect, not once, but five times. According to reports, he died. It was all caught on video that you can watch by clicking here.

LA Times reports:

Police responded to a call about an altercation between two people at San Pedro and 5th streets about 11:30 a.m., said Officer Jack Richter.

After police arrived, “an officer-involved shooting occurred,” he said.

The identity of the person who was shot was not immediately released.

No officers were injured during the incident and no other details were immediately available, Richter said.

You can clearly see the officer pointing his gun at the suspect around the 0:26 mark. Warning, the video is graphic.
