Baltimore City Police Department are still investigating the murder of star basketball player, Brandon Spruill. Spruill was shot and killed in west Baltimore on the corner of McKean and Baker, a normal hangout spot for him and friends.

According to police, Monday night Brandon was hanging with friends when two armed suspects ambushed them from behind and ordered them to the ground. Once the victims were to the ground with their hands behind their head, the suspects began to rob them of their belongings.

The 23-year-old attended Walbrook Senior High School, where he helped lead the Warriors to two championships in 2005 and 2006. Brandon was hardworking man, according to his former coach, who left behind his older brother Rodney Spruill, a 2-year-old daughter, and a slew of family and friends.

Family and friends have organized a candlelight vigil Friday at 7:30pm at Walbrook High, located at  2000 Edgewood Street, on the football field.
