Baltimore police say that the gunmen that stormed Johns Hopkin’s Hospital today around 11am, and shot the doctor who he belives is repsponsible for his mother becoming paralyzed, is dead, along with another relative.

Initially, reports were saying that police had shot the gunmen, but that is untrue.

Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the suspect and his mother died in a murder-suicide in a room at Hopkins.

Police say Paul Warren Pardus, 50, from Arlington, Va., was receiving news about his mother’s care from the doctor. His mother has been identified as Jean Davis. Police say Pardus became emotionally distraught and took a small semiautomatic handgun from his waistband. Police say he shot the doctor once in the hallway outside his mother’s room. He then barricaded himself in the room with this mother.

The doctor who was shot is in surgery for a shot to the abdomen, and is expected to survive.

No one else was hurt in this incident.
