Larry Young broke into the media field as a columnist for the Baltimore Times and then started at Radio One in 1998 with “Senator’s Talk” on WOLB-AM.  Today the former senator celebrates 15 years with Radio One and has a leading morning show on WOLB.

The “Larry Young Morning” show has been rated as the #1 Black Talk Show in Maryland. Talker Magazine rated in #99  in their 2007 Top 100 Talk Shows and #86 in 2008. The Baltimore City Paper also named his show, Best Radio Station in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Radio One’s talk radio would not be the same without Larry Young and for that he has much to celebrate! Happy Birthday Larry Young and may you have many more to come!

Tuesday morning Radio One Baltimore’s Larry Young Morning Show hosted the 2011 Mayoral Debate at the Radio One Baltimore studios. All mayoral candidates were present for the event. More that 60 invited guests and all local major news stations were in attendance. The list of issues discussed included jobs, school reform, the development of an African American arts and entertainment district, city crime, vacant houses and summer activities for city youth. Please listen in for the re-airing of the 2011 Mayoral Debate Saturday morning on WOLB 1010AM.

Radio One Baltimore’s “Rock the Vote” held at Bourbon Street was a great success. It brought out Congressman Elijah Cummings, Senator Catherin Pugh, Councilman Carl Stokes and hundreds of young adults. “Rock the Vote” mixed Hip Hop music with politics with performances by Smash, Skar Akbar, Wordsmith, Kartel, Conscious, Fuquwn, Igima, Billy Live and Comp. These artists rocked the stage and encourage all in attendance to vote on November 2^nd, 2010.
