BGE to Start Installing ‘Smart Meters’ in May

Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. will begin installing “smart meters” in May.

Smart-meters allow the utility to get immediate information about outages and other problems on the grid. The new meters are intended to allow customers to track and control usage, helping them save on their energy bills.
